About Vilon

Vilon is the dipeptide Lys-Glu, lysine joined to glutamic acid. It comes out of Vladimir Khavinson’s bioregulator program at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology, where it was designed as a short synthetic stand-in for thymus extracts like thymalin.

At two amino acids it’s one of the smallest peptides in the bioregulator range. It’s a research compound and isn’t approved as a medicine in the US or Europe.

How Vilon works

Khavinson’s group proposes that very short peptides like Lys-Glu enter the cell nucleus and loosen tightly packed chromatin, which would let silenced genes switch back on. Their studies in old lymphocytes reported more active chromatin after treatment.

Vilon research

Most of the published work comes from Khavinson’s group. Mouse studies reported that long courses of Vilon were linked to longer lifespan and fewer spontaneous tumors in some strains, and cell work looked at how it changes chromatin in aging lymphocytes.

Other papers looked at immune markers and at tissue regeneration in older animals. Almost none of this has been repeated by independent labs, so treat the results as a starting point.

How to reconstitute Vilon 20mg

Concentration is the amount in the vial divided by the volume of water you add. With 20mg of powder in this vial:

• 1mL of bacteriostatic water gives 20mg/mL
• 2mL of bacteriostatic water gives 10mg/mL
• 3mL of bacteriostatic water gives 6.67mg/mL

Choose the volume that suits your measurements. Mark the vial with the concentration and date so nobody has to guess later.

Most labs use sterile bacteriostatic water. We stock bacteriostatic water in 3mL, 10mL and 30mL sizes. Warm the sealed vial to room temperature, add the water slowly along the glass wall and swirl gently until it’s clear. Never shake it.

Vilon 20mg storage and shelf life

The dry powder keeps best cold and dark. A freezer at -20°C is right for long-term storage. After reconstitution, store it in the fridge at 2 to 8°C and finish it within roughly four weeks.

Let a frozen vial warm up to room temperature before you open it. Cold glass pulls moisture out of the air, and moisture is what degrades dry peptide.
