GHK-Cu raw powder is loose GHK-Cu supplied as raw lyophilized powder in a screw-cap tube, for formulation and lab research. It’s sold for laboratory research only and isn’t for human or veterinary use.
GHK-Cu is the most common active in copper peptide serums and creams, so formulation labs buy it as loose powder to make their own test batches.
The powder is blue. That color comes from the copper bound to the peptide, and it’s normal.
What is GHK-Cu?
GHK-Cu is the tripeptide glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine bound to a copper(II) ion. Loren Pickart first isolated GHK from human plasma in 1973, and levels in plasma are reported to fall with age.
It binds copper tightly and is studied for wound healing, collagen production and skin repair. It’s also one of the most common actives in copper peptide skin care.
How GHK-Cu works
GHK binds copper tightly and can deliver it to cells. Copper is a cofactor for lysyl oxidase, the enzyme that cross-links collagen and elastin, and for antioxidant enzymes.
In cell and animal studies GHK-Cu increased collagen and glycosaminoglycan production, attracted repair cells to wounds, and changed the activity of many genes involved in tissue remodeling.
Published GHK-Cu studies
Maquart and colleagues reported in 1988 that GHK-Cu stimulated collagen synthesis in cultured fibroblasts, and later rat wound-chamber studies found more collagen and glycosaminoglycan buildup.
Gene expression work by Pickart and colleagues suggests GHK can shift the activity of a large number of human genes, many tied to tissue repair and the antioxidant response.

Why buy GHK-Cu as raw powder?
Raw powder lets you set your own concentration and choose your own base, whether that’s water, a serum or a cream. A pre-filled vial such as GHK-Cu 50mg fixes the amount for you, which suits reconstitution work but not formulation.
It also suits labs that need to weigh out test batches at several strengths from one supply, instead of opening a new vial for each one.
Keep a simple log of each test batch: the weight of powder, the volume and type of base, the date and the order it came from. Formulation work moves quickly, and a log is what lets you repeat the batch that worked.
Handling GHK-Cu raw powder
Weigh it on an analytical balance in a dry room. Fine peptide powders pick up moisture and static fast, so open the tube only for as long as you need, and close it straight away.
Work out your target concentration before you weigh anything. For example, 10mg in 10mL of water gives 1mg/mL, which is 0.1%. Most cosmetic formulas use peptides well below 1%, so a small amount of powder goes a long way.
Storing GHK-Cu raw powder
Keep the powder sealed and cold: 2 to 8°C for regular use, or -20°C for long-term storage, away from light and moisture. Let it warm to room temperature before opening so no condensation forms on the powder, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

GHK-Cu raw powder quality notes
The tube label shows the compound and the amount. For anything your lab needs on file beyond that, email Peptira support with the product name before you place the order.
Many labs run their own identity check when a new batch arrives. For peptides, purity is usually measured by HPLC, which separates a sample into its parts and reports the main compound as a share of the total. Mass spectrometry is often run alongside it to confirm the molecular weight.
Keep a record of which tube went into which experiment. Matching results to material is the simplest way to rule it out when an experiment doesn’t behave.
