DSIP 10mg is a 10mg vial of DSIP, a neuropeptide, supplied as freeze-dried powder. It’s sold for laboratory research only.
What is DSIP?
Delta sleep-inducing peptide (DSIP) is a nine-amino-acid peptide first isolated from rabbit blood in 1977 by Schoenenberger and Monnier. It was named for its effect on slow-wave sleep in rabbits.
Its natural role is still unclear.
How DSIP works
DSIP was found while looking for compounds that drive deep sleep. Researchers named it for the delta waves of slow-wave sleep it seemed to boost in rabbits.
Later work suggested its effects are broader and less specific: it affects stress hormone release, body temperature and pain signaling. No receptor has been identified, which is part of why it’s still an open research question.

What the research says about DSIP
Small human studies in the 1980s looked at sleep and withdrawal, with mixed results.
Animal studies report effects on stress hormones and body temperature.
The primary literature is on PubMed, run by the US National Library of Medicine. Here’s a search for DSIP studies to start from.
DSIP 10mg vs related compounds
DSIP 10mg is easier to place once you see it next to the compounds it’s usually compared with. DSIP is a nine-amino-acid peptide first isolated from rabbits in deep sleep. The others:
- Semax is built on a fragment of ACTH and linked to BDNF in rodent studies
- Selank is built on tuftsin and studied for anxiety through the GABA system
- PE-22-28 is a short spadin analog that blocks the TREK-1 potassium channel
These are studied for the brain but through very different routes: BDNF, the GABA system, sleep, a potassium channel and CNTF-style neurotrophic signaling. See them all on our nootropic peptides page.
How to reconstitute DSIP 10mg
Concentration is the amount in the vial divided by the volume of water you add. With 10mg of powder in this vial:
- 1mL of bacteriostatic water gives 10mg/mL
- 2mL of bacteriostatic water gives 5mg/mL
- 3mL of bacteriostatic water gives 3.33mg/mL
Go with whichever number is easiest to work with in your protocol, and label the vial with the concentration and the date you mixed it.
Use sterile bacteriostatic water, like our bacteriostatic water. Let the vial reach room temperature, run the water slowly down the inside of the glass, then roll the vial gently until the powder dissolves. Don’t shake it. Shaking can shear peptide chains.
How to store DSIP 10mg
Freeze-dried DSIP 10mg handles room temperature fine during shipping, but for anything longer keep it in a freezer at -20°C, away from light. Once mixed, keep it in the fridge at 2 to 8°C and use it within about four weeks.
Let a frozen vial warm up to room temperature before you open it. Cold glass pulls moisture out of the air, and moisture is what degrades dry peptide.
DSIP 10mg quality notes
The vial label shows the compound and the amount. For anything your lab needs on file beyond that, email Peptira support with the product name before you place the order.
If you verify incoming material yourself, the standard methods are HPLC for purity and mass spectrometry for identity. HPLC splits the sample and reports the main peak as a percentage, while mass spec confirms that peak has the right molecular weight.
Keep a record of which vial went into which experiment. Matching results to material is the simplest way to rule it out when an experiment doesn’t behave.
Ordering DSIP 10mg for a full study
Work out the total amount before you order. Add up what each arm of the study uses across every time point, then divide by 10mg. Round up by one vial so a spoiled sample or a repeat run doesn’t stall the project.
Mix one vial at a time and keep the rest sealed in the freezer. Dry powder keeps far longer than solution, so there’s no reason to reconstitute everything at the start.
Keep vials from one batch together in a study where you can. The batch number on the label ties each result back to the lab paperwork.
